Alex Burroak – Dungeons and Dragons Mentor
Alex Burroak
Alex joined Youth Options following his wedding in mid-2025 to lead the NDIS Dungeons & Dragons program. With over four years of experience in support work and over a decade’s experience with Dungeons & Dragons, he aims to foster soft skills through campaigns that require collaboration, empathy, and conflict resolution; living with autism spectrum disorder himself, he understands these skills are essential for getting through the day-to-day of our urban landscape.
Alex provides variety in these campaigns by utilizing the sizeable library of Dungeons & Dragons source material he has collected over the last thirteen years. Outside of work, Alex enjoys all sorts of table-top role-playing games, board and card games, as they provide a fun atmosphere to share with friends and family alike. He loves going on hikes and seeing new places with his wife. Youth Options has provided space for upskilling (he is currently studying his Certificate IV in Youth Work alongside his weekly programs) and to build a solid relationship within the team, making it quite the enjoyable workspace.
Alex is excited for what the future holds and believes everyone deserves the chance at building those fundamental social skills needed to adapt to the workplace.
